The Scauldron is featured in the episode Free Scauldy where while on a scouting mission Hiccup, Fishlegs and the Twins find one with its wing stuck under rocks on Changewing Island. Ruffnut then gets tips from Hiccup on how to train it. She names him Scauldy, then talks and sings to him to calm him down. His wing is broken so they make him a splint and end up using Ruffnut's hair, letting him swim freely once again, and get away from the angry Changewings.
